I am certain I am a jeweler and bead-weaver because I love to work small. The process of adding one tine bead at a time to create a collection of color and texture resembling fabric is inspiration for me. Manipulating small, impersonal pieces of metal until it reflects warmth and character drives me to create more.
I am inspired by texture and the perception of depth it creates. The media which I use in my work varies widely. I look for unusual found objects to add an unexpected twist to a piece, such a car metal with sterling silver, or concrete withy fine silver. I also utilize more traditional materials; sterling, gold, copper, gem stones, PMC, resin, beading and beads to name a few. Using a variety of materials and methods allows me great freedom within my work. I enjoy experimenting with many subjects and materials as it permits my expression of my views in a variety of ways.
